Who can enrol in the course?

Our course is designed for a wide range of students: beauty therapists, dermal therapists, nurses, cosmetic nurses, allied health professionals, salon and clinic owners, and complete beginners with no previous experience. Whether you are starting a new career or adding body contouring to your existing services, you can enrol. No prior qualification is required.

Do I need previous beauty experience?

No. Our course is designed for complete beginners as well as experienced beauty professionals. We start from the fundamentals — anatomy, physics, client communication — and take you through to professional practitioner level. Many of our graduates had zero experience when they started and now run successful body contouring businesses.

Is practical training included?

Yes. Practical, hands-on training is a core part of the course. You will train on real, professional equipment under expert guidance in a supportive small-group setting. We believe practical competency is essential — you cannot learn body contouring from theory alone.

Where is the course held?

Our training is held at Bunjil Place, 2 Patrick Northeast Drive, Narre Warren VIC 3805 — in Melbourne’s south-east. The venue is easily accessible via the Princes Highway and Monash Freeway, approximately 40 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. Students travel from across Melbourne, regional Victoria, and interstate to attend.

What equipment is included?

Your course includes professional starter equipment so you can begin offering treatments immediately after graduation. The equipment covers 40kHz cavitation, 80kHz cavitation, bipolar RF, eye/facial RF, vacuum RF, six-polar body RF, microcurrent photon, and cryo lift functions. This is a significant value proposition — one investment covers both your training and the equipment you need to start taking clients.

What will I learn in the course?

You will learn 7 high-demand body contouring and skin tightening modalities: 40kHz cavitation, 80kHz cavitation, bipolar RF, vacuum RF, six-polar body RF, microcurrent photon, and cryo lift. The course also covers anatomy and physiology, client consultation and assessment, treatment planning, contraindications, client safety, infection prevention, documentation, aftercare, and a complete business system including pricing, client acquisition, and setup.

Do I receive a certificate?

Yes. Upon successful completion of the course you receive a Certificate of Completion from National Aesthetics Training. This is a private certificate of completion — it is not a government-accredited qualification, not a nationally recognised training (RTO) qualification, and not an AQF certification. It documents that you have completed professional training in body contouring and skin tightening.

Is National Aesthetics Training an RTO?

No. National Aesthetics Training is a private training provider, not a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Our course is not nationally recognised training under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and does not result in a Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma. We provide professional, industry-focused training and a private Certificate of Completion. If you specifically require an AQF qualification, you should enrol with an RTO. If you want practical, hands-on training focused on real-world body contouring skills, our course is designed for you.

Is the course nationally recognised?

No. Our course is not nationally recognised training under the Australian Qualifications Framework. It is a private, industry-focused certification. However, the skills and knowledge you gain are aligned with current industry practices in the Australian aesthetics and body contouring sector. Many insurance providers and employers in the aesthetics industry recognise private certifications like ours. We recommend checking with your insurance provider and local council about their specific requirements.

How is competency assessed?

Competency is developed through a combination of course attendance, hands-on practice during training, and post-course practical experience. During the course, you will practice each modality under expert supervision. We assess your understanding of theory, safety protocols, and practical technique. However, attendance alone does not necessarily demonstrate full competency — that is why we require post-course practical experience.

How much practice is required after training?

We require a commitment to completing a minimum of 25 hours of post-course practical experience, ideally by treating at least 25 volunteer models (approximately one hour per treatment). This is because professional competency is developed through ongoing practice and experience following training. This post-course practice helps you build confidence, refine your technique, and develop the practical skills needed before providing treatments independently. We position this positively — National Aesthetics Training values practical competency, safety, and confidence, not simply course attendance.

Can I start my own body contouring business?

Yes. Many of our graduates start their own body contouring businesses, including home-based studios, mobile services, and clinic-based practices. Body contouring requires minimal space and has a low barrier to entry. Our course includes business training covering pricing, client acquisition, setup, and marketing. However, you must comply with all applicable local council, health, and insurance requirements relevant to your location and circumstances.

What insurance may I need?

Most body contouring practitioners need professional indemnity and public liability insurance. Requirements vary depending on your location, the treatments you offer, your professional background, and your insurance provider. We recommend contacting insurance providers that cover aesthetics and beauty treatments to confirm their requirements before you start practising. Our course provides the knowledge and protocols to perform treatments safely, but insurance is your responsibility.

Do I learn cavitation in the course?

Yes. You will learn both 40kHz and 80kHz ultrasonic cavitation. 40kHz cavitation targets fat reduction using ultrasonic waves for stubborn areas, while 80kHz cavitation provides gentler, deeper fat breakdown for sensitive areas. You will learn the theory, application, safety protocols, and hands-on technique for both.

Do I learn radiofrequency in the course?

Yes. You will learn multiple radiofrequency (RF) modalities: bipolar RF for skin tightening and collagen stimulation, eye/facial RF for wrinkle reduction, vacuum RF for enhanced fat reduction, and six-polar body RF for full-body skin tightening and contouring. RF is one of the most in-demand non-invasive skin tightening treatments.

What is the difference between cavitation and RF?

Ultrasonic cavitation targets and disrupts fat cells using sound waves, making it ideal for localised fat reduction. Radiofrequency (RF) uses heat energy to tighten skin and stimulate collagen production, making it ideal for skin tightening and anti-ageing. Both are non-invasive, and combining them produces superior body contouring results. Our course covers both modalities in depth so you can offer comprehensive treatment plans.

Can students travel from interstate?

Yes. Students regularly travel from interstate — including NSW, Queensland, South Australia, and Tasmania — to attend our Melbourne training. Our one-day intensive format makes it practical to fly in and out. Narre Warren is approximately 40 minutes from Melbourne Airport and accessible via major highways.

What should interstate students plan for?

Interstate students should plan travel and accommodation to arrive the evening before the course. Narre Warren has nearby accommodation options, and Melbourne Airport is approximately 50 minutes away. We recommend booking flights that allow you to arrive the night before and depart the evening of the course day or the following morning. Contact us if you need recommendations for nearby accommodation.

When is the next training intake?

The next training intake is the November 2026 Training Intake, with the course scheduled for Saturday, 14 November 2026. Applications for this intake are now open and close on 10 October 2026. We recommend applying early to allow sufficient time for your application to be reviewed before the deadline.

Does submitting an application guarantee a place?

No. National Aesthetics Training reviews all applications before issuing enrolment offers. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Only successful applicants will receive a formal offer to enrol. Once an offer is issued, the successful applicant will receive further information regarding enrolment and the next steps required to secure their place.
